DESCRIPTION
Fresno Pacific University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in chemistry. The position will support primarily traditional undergraduate students; instructional needs range from support for upper-division chemistry courses to support for introductory chemistry courses serving students across a variety of majors.
ROLE
Teach undergraduate chemistry courses. Current needs include:
- CHEM 321L Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory
(8/19/2024 – 12/6/2024; Fridays 2:00 – 5:00) - CHEM 340 Environmental Chemistry
(1/13/2025 – 5/9/2025; day(s)/time TBD) - CHEM 340L Environmental Chemistry Laboratory
(1/13/2025 – 5/9/2025; Thursdays 4:10 to 5:30)
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Ph.D. or M.S in chemistry or a close-related field;
- Ability to work with students, staff and faculty in a collegial environment;
- Commitment to the Christian faith and the University’s mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church.
Preferred
- Specialization in environmental and/or inorganic chemistry;
- Willingness to teach course as currently scheduled (alternative scheduling of a course may be considered depending on applicant availability alongside other course scheduling considerations).
COMPENSATION
- Master’s rate $23.87 overtime rate $35.81
- PhD rate $28.82 overtime rate $43.22
- Overtime is calculated at time + ½
