A five-day theater intensive acting class focused on the works of Shakespeare. Students (ages 13-18) will participate in drama games, learn warm-up exercises, practice vocal techniques, create characters and study theater history all through the lens of Shakespeare scenes and monologues, culminating in a live student performance on the last day of instruction. All instruction is taught by FPU Theater Program Director Brandi Martin and special guest artist Blake Ellis!
REGISTRATION/FEES:
Registration Deadline: July 3, 2023
$125 for the week - includes boxed lunch each day; please note on the registration form if the student has any food allergies.
SCHEDULE:
Monday - Thursday (July 17-20)
- 9:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Student Drop off at WCAC (Note: on Monday, July 17, please try to arrive early so we can make sure the necessary permission forms are filled out)
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Workshop
- 12:15 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. Lunch
- 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Workshop
- 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Break/optional pick up time (if students don't want to stay for the film)
- 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Shakespeare Film and Discussion
- 5:00 p.m. Student Pick up at WCAC
Friday (July 21)
- 9:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Student Drop off at WCAC
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Final Workshops/Rehearsals
- 12:15 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. Lunch
- 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Final Prep
- 2:00 p.m. Student Showcase at WCAC Lin Family Performance Studio. All are welcome to attend, free admission!
- 3:00 p.m. End of Showcase/Student Departure
