Fresno, Cailf. – The Fresno Pacific men’s basketball team looked to get back on the right track today, facing the College of Idaho in the second day of tournament play in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Sunbirds were up and down throughout the course of the game, but were able to pull off an 83-74 win to improve to 3-1 on the season.

The Sunbirds fell behind early on 14-19 with eight minutes left to play in the first period, but made an impressive 28-13 run to end the first half with a 42-32 lead.

Fresno Pacific would continue to lead throughout the entire second half, going ahead by up to 20 points at some points. The Sunbirds offense was led by junior guard James Lewis who scored 25 points and had 5 rebounds on the night. Jordan Wild helped out as well putting up 16 points and was strong on the boards grabbing 10 rebounds. Marcus West recorded 13 points and Todd Brown had 10.

“It’s always nice to get a win, but we weren’t real pleased with the way our guys finished the game,” critiqued FPU assistant coach Chris Wright. “We know that closing games out is something we can definitely work on as a team. However, the season’s still early and that’s why we play these games.”

The Sunbirds will be back in action next Friday November 21st when they travel to play tournament host Montana Tech. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00PM. The Sunbirds will then face Montana State North on Saturday November 22nd to round up tournament play. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00PM.
